A short but informative film on South Africa, Botswana and Victoria Falls (one of the Seven Wonders of the World) will be presented at the Zoo on June 9, 2002. The film, "Southern Discovery!" produced by Willie Grové, vividly brings to life our featured October 20 to November 3, 2002 Safari. Willie and Katie will be available to answer any and all questions about our fabulous 15-day Southern Discovery Safari Adventure. Stay afterwards for a unique, personalized, private, behind-the-scenes tour of a few of the Columbus Zoo's outstanding African Exhibits. Please RSVP by calling Willie

| A special note from Gerald W. Borin, Director, Columbus Zoo At the Columbus Zoo we have always been interested in promoting a better understanding of the World of Nature. That is why we have developed some of the country's foremost zoological exhibits, and why we support zoological research in many parts of the world. But in spite of all the technology and modern amenities, we can never replicate the true exhilaration of "being there." That is why we have organized tours to Africa and other parts of the world for many years; to help our friends get a true immersion experience. We have always been supportive of the efforts of others in our community to elevate awareness of nature in other parts of our world. A Columbus Zoo board member, Willie Grové and his wife, Katie, are leading an outstanding tour to Southern Africa from October 20 to November 3 this year. Willie is from South Africa, and is well qualified to take travelers back to his homeland to show them the wonders of Africa. You will marvel at the diversity in people, wildlife and geography. We are very pleased to help Willie entertain his guests at this special Zoo presentation on June 9, 2002 at 3:00 PM. Jerry Borin |
