May 2002.

Since coming from South Africa to America with my wife, Katie, almost 25 years ago, I have had a dream to share some of the wonders of Africa with the many friends we have made in America by providing an experience not found in the most exclusive travel catalogues… to share my South African heritage and our love for Africa. In 2001 we led our first official guided tour, taking a wonderful group of friends on an adventure of a lifetime. My goal was to show them my homeland through my eyes. The bonus I got was to experience it through theirs.

From October 20 to November 3 we will conduct our second New Trekker Adventures African Safari: Southern Discovery! 2002. We will return to South Africa, Botswana, and Victoria Falls in Zambia/Zimbabwe. We hope you can join us on this adventure. Space is limited and the time is near, so send us your response today!

Willie and Katie Grové

This personalized tour includes many exclusive experiences.

Southern Discovery! 2001 participants in Cape Town with Table Mountain in the background. Our guide to New Rest is a resident of this "informal settlement" outside Cape Town.

Cape Town is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The "Mother City", nestled against Table Mountain, offers the tourist unparalleled beauty, with visits to Cape Point, Kirstenbosch Nation-al Botanical Gardens and a gondola ride to the top of Table Mountain not to be missed. We will visit the "informal settle-ment" of New Rest and the breathtaking wine country of Paarl and Franschoek, and will be elegantly entertained in the home of Willie and Katie's friends, Dr. and Mrs. Sid Cywes in the shadow of Table Mountain.

"It was far more than I expected it to be. It was wonderful…
one of the best trips I have ever taken." - Ruth McNeal, Naples Florida.

In Botswana we will meet Tim and June Liversedge, who have lived in the Maun area for more than 20 years. Tim is an award-winning documentary producer and June is an acclaimed wildlife photographer with international credits. We will learn what life in the bush is really like, National Geographic style!

We are securing the game areas and entire facilities of Pom Pom Camp in the Okavango Delta. You will have your own personal time in "Africa's Last Eden", the "Jewel of the Kalahari". We keep the group small to ensure a personal experience you will never forget.

"…the exhilaration and awe of being so close to those magnificent wild animals…"
Debbi Wood, Upper Arlington, Ohio

Because of the wide variety of terrain in the area of Duma Tau camp in the Savuti, we are able to experience wildlife on the water, on land and on foot. Day and night game drives are con-ducted in open 4X4 vehicles along the Savuti and Linyati Rivers. The area is famous for its elephants - huge herds congregate along the waterways and lagoons of the Okavango Delta, as well as at waterholes down the Savuti Channel.
"Never a dull moment!"
- Don Lewis, Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Victoria Falls, one of the world's greatest natural wonders, is more than twice the size of Niagara Falls. The mighty currents of the Zambezi fall in an endless curtain as the waters of the Zambezi, more than a mile wide, crash 400 feet to the earth below. Your accommodation will be at the Royal Livingston Hotel in Zambia. This magnificent new resort is situated on the banks of the Zambezi River.

In Pretoria we will have dinner in the home of Bienes and Ronel Schoeman. Bienes is Chairman of WenChem, a large South African agricultural company. He is also a big game hunter who has traveled to every corner of Africa, and indeed many parts of the world to pursue his passion. Bienes and Ronel promise an unforgettable evening of Afrikaans food and entertainment.

"I think of Africa and all of our experiences daily and I find myself smiling constantly. The three most special aspects: I got to share this magnificent experience with my mom, I got to know the two of you, and I got to experience a part of the world I thought I'd never see, through the eyes of two who know and love it intimately. Thank you for an unforgettable experience"
- Debbi Wood, Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Also in Pretoria, we will be educated in the important archeological discoveries made near Johannesburg in the last few years as we visit the Swartkrans and Sterkfontein excavations where the earliest humanoid fossils were discovered. The "Cradle of Mankind!"

We have prepared a short video presentation on the type of experience we are planning, using almost entirely our own footage filmed in this beautiful part of the world. We would love to send you this video and a complete itinerary if you would be interested in joining us on our:
